Stay awhile and listen.
I’m just going to talk about shit that’s on my mind and see what happens from there. Feel free to hang out and see what I have to say, or not. My feelings won’t be hurt either way, I just believe I have some interesting opinions on a variety of issues that seem to be affecting us today.
Alright guys, I don’t feel like changing up the whole site right now so I won’t change much here, but I’ve thought of what I want to do with this site. I’m still just going to talk shit, but I was watching a documentary on Netflix “Inside the Manosphere” I believe. Honestly, it frustrated me. The reason was the guy hosting the documentary. Now, to be clear, I’m sure I align with his viewpoints a fair bit closer than to the manosphere influencers, but it annoyed me that he didn’t seem to know how to talk to them.
I would honestly love to sit down with both him and the people he’s interviewing and see if I can have a conversation and help them both understand each other, and see what happens from there.
The short answer is that if you have a podcast or anything else public facing, I think it would be amazing to come onto your platform, have a conversation, and let that be that. If that would interest you, feel free to reach out.
The more detailed explanation here is that I’m a weirdo in a way, but it’s not bad. I am very self-retrospective (if that’s the right word?). I analyze just about every interaction I have ever been in to see what I can learn and how I think I could have handled it better. Sometimes I never get the chance and it’s the equivalent of thinking of a comeback to a joke the next day. But sometimes, that situation (or something similar) will come up again, I can try what I’ve learned, see if it’s better or worse, and try to make myself a better person going forward at least in the sense of being able to relate with people better.
Now, I would say that I used to be a Democrat. I’m not anymore, reformed Democrat, I guess? I’m not sure if I even really have a political party anymore. Some people might consider me a centrist, but they get kind of a bad rap in some circles. Some people would also definitely call me left wing. I don’t think anybody would call me right wing, but at least I can have a conversation with someone who would identify as right-wing and walk away with a possible new friend, even if we don’t agree on much politically. I’ll explain more in time.
This has been a long way to say, I’ve had like 40 years of experience meeting people, I’ve been in a lot of weird situations and sometimes met some interesting people, and especially due to the retrospection, I feel I’ve learned a fair amount and have something to offer the world at this point. At the very least, my parents are divorced, my dad is Republican and my mom is Democrat. Sometimes, I’m more excited to talk to my dad because I want to argue about politics or something but I like my dad, so we’re only going to argue ideas, I like him actually so I will not make it personal. We get along well. But he doesn’t like to argue about politics. =(
Really, I just want to argue about politics or honestly anything else with someone else who can at least keep it based on the ideas and not the other person. I may not like your ideas but that doesn’t mean I don’t like you. If you feel the same, we could get along well, and I’d love to work together. So again, if you have a podcast or whatnot, feel free to reach out if you’re cool, I don’t otherwise care if you’re right wing, left wing, somewhere in the middle or something else entirely. I think we could have an interesting conversation, but here’s the more important point. If you can get our conversation out to your followers, I think people can learn from our conversation. I’m hoping that you and I will also be able to learn something but make no promises there.
Now, I’m not going to ask for money, I’m disabled and on SSDI so I’m all set there. If I end up on a podcast and there’s an offer for pay, that’s cool, we can talk about it, but it’s not what I’m looking for nor is it the intention of this site. I’m also not chasing clout; I don’t know how to edit videos and will not be starting a podcast myself or anything so I will not be quite the same as the interviewer who comes over with his own film crew. If there’s any video or audio footage of anything, it’s because you took it and you’re free to do with it as you please. I may respond here if I think you got anything wrong about our conversation that you post, but I won’t use any footage to do it.
Back to the original programming here, I do have to apologize, I’ve never made a website and barely have a clue what I’m doing. It’s not just video and sound! There are many links down below and I don’t know why. I will surely never host an event on the site, irl or otherwise. 🙂
The formatting looks different between the homepage and the blog; I had originally bought this site for a bookkeeping business a few years ago but that never went anywhere. (God damn ADHD) At least you get a link to the post now! Who knows what’ll happen if I write a second one though?
Anyway, if you understood the diablo reference that’s awesome. If you remembered and didn’t have to scroll back up even better. I’ve been playing a lot (too much?) Diablo IV lately, but the paladin is just so much fun, even in S12.
